Through a unique combination of technical expertise, specialist facilities, innovation programmes and industry collaboration, the Centre provides the guidance, tools and environment needed to explore, test and adopt digital twin technologies with confidence. By bringing together businesses, technology providers, researchers and innovators, we’re accelerating the development of products, processes and systems while building the capabilities, networks and knowledge that will unlock the full potential of digital twins across UK industry.

The Digital Twin Adoption Accelerator 2026 is now open for applications. Secure up to £100,000 in Innovate UK grant funding to develop and validate an innovative digital twin solution, with expert support, mentoring and access to specialist facilities throughout the programme.

Funded by Belfast Region City Deal and Innovate UK, with substantial industry co-investment from Thales UK, Shorts Brothers – A Boeing Company, and Artemis Technologies, the UK Digital Twin Centre is delivering six pioneering use cases that demonstrate the transformative potential of digital twins across the maritime, aerospace, and defence sectors.

More than £37 million is being invested over a 5-year period, with a key aim to increase the UK’s technological capability and support skilled employment in Northern Ireland.
