Learn moreWe believe equality, diversity and inclusion are key to creating an enjoyable and positive company culture.
We recognise and value the advantage of people coming from diverse backgrounds, where an inclusive and open culture can lead to more innovation and greater agility, accelerating technology and growing the UK economy in an equitable way. This is why it’s our ambition to build an organisation that is fully representative and reflective of UK society.
We believe Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) are key to creating an enjoyable and positive company culture, where people feel they belong and do their best work, which ultimately drives the success of our business and of others we work with.
As part of the Catapult Network, we have confirmed our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and will act on the following:
We have a vibrant and engaging culture where all voices are heard. We achieve this through committing to routine company-wide updates and our established internal networks that have formed over the years. From our Employee Voice Network to our Parents and Women in Tech networks, we have a variety of different employee led affinity groups who champion initiatives within the organisation and provide opportunities for feedback to be shared and heard.
We follow a calendar of activities to promote wellbeing and EDI initiatives, which is refreshed annually and responsive to the needs of the people who work with us. These activities include celebrations around International Women’s Day, Pride, National Inclusion Week and Black History Month. We use moments in the year to educate everyone at Digital Catapult on different aspects of EDI and to raise awareness and take different approaches to training – from webinars, panel discussions and online learning.
We also enjoy socialising and having fun together through a variety of company-wide events held throughout the year including our football team, running groups, our film club and volunteering activities.
We have developed an internal Manager Academy programme that all of our people managers are expected to follow to ensure that they are becoming true role models within our organisation. We also ensure our training programmes support diverse learning experiences that suit different learning preferences.
We work to remove any form of bias in our career development processes ensuring that everyone has access to different learning and development opportunities using different formats based on preferences and we ensure that promotion opportunities are managed through applying a consistent and equal framework.
Apprentices also make up 4% of our team and we are striving to increase this to 5% over the course of 2023.
