WEBINAR

Sovereign Telecom Datasets: Enabling AI-Driven Innovation

Date: 17 November 2026 11:00 - 12:05

Register by: Tuesday 17 November 2026

Overview

The growing adoption of private 5G across enterprise and industrial environments is creating new opportunities for intelligent radio access network (RAN) optimisation and automation. However, access to realistic, high-quality private 5G network data remains limited, making it challenging for artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) developers and researchers to develop, train and benchmark RAN optimisation solutions under representative real-world conditions.

To address this challenge Digital Catapult is building the UK’s first sovereign dataset, an openly accessible knowledge asset of network performance and operational data.

About this event

Hosted as part of the Assured 5G Technical Authority (A5G-TA) Programme delivered by Digital Catapult working with Innovate UK, this webinar will explore how sovereign telecom datasets are enabling the next wave of AI-driven network innovation. Discover how the datasets were developed, what challenges they address and why they represent a step-forward for the future of telecom AI assurance.

We’ll also explore one of the specific use cases developed, focused on energy efficiency optimisation, and through five real-world scenarios – Enterprise, Warehouse, Smart Factory, Stadium and Campus – you will discover how intelligent energy optimisation can be achieved through dynamic RAN resource management to reduce unnecessary energy consumption, while maintaining network performance, coverage, reliability and quality of service.

Why attend?

  • Discover and learn more about the UK’s first sovereign telecom dataset built by Digital Catapult.

  • Gain insight into AI/ML-driven RAN optimisation, use cases, and data-driven approaches and learn how sovereign, diverse telecom datasets can accelerate AI-network innovation.
  • Learn how to use these datasets to build, train, validate and benchmark intelligent network solutions.

Who should attend?

Attendance is welcome from the broader UK telecoms sector and AI ecosystem, with the event being particularly valuable to:

  • Telecom AI researchers from academia seeking access to representative datasets for AI model development, testing and validation.
  • Telecom and network industry professionals looking to understand how sovereign data assets can support AI adoption and network innovation.
  • Telecom AI specialists interested in AI assurance, benchmarking and optimisation approaches for private 5G and future networks.
  • AI/ML developers and engineers wanting to build, train and evaluate intelligent network solutions using realistic telecom data
