Overview

Do you want to understand how digital twin technology could support your organisation?

The Digital Twin Technology Access Programme (TAP), delivered by Digital Catapult’s UK Digital Twin Centre, gives UK businesses the opportunity to get hands-on with industry-standard technologies and explore how digital twins could be applied to their own operations, products and challenges.

Digital twins are transforming how organisations design, operate and make decisions. However, understanding the potential of the technology is one thing, knowing how it could work in practice for your organisation is another.

The Technology Access Programme helps close that gap by providing participants with access to leading digital twin technology vendors, specialist training and ongoing support. Rather than learning about digital twins in theory, successful applicants will have the opportunity to experiment with industry-standard tools and explore how they could be applied to real-world use cases.

Whether you are at the beginning of your digital twin journey or looking to better understand a particular technology, TAP is designed to help you move from curiosity to practical capability.

Why get involved?

Get hands-on experience with the technologies helping organisations put digital twins into practice.

As part of the programme, successful applicants will:

  • Access industry-standard digital twin tools from leading technology vendors.
  • Receive tailored training and expert support to help you get started.
  • Experiment with technology in a practical environment and explore how it could apply to your organisation.
  • Develop a better understanding of digital twin technologies and their potential applications.
  • Explore your own use cases and challenges, moving beyond theory to practical experimentation.
  • Receive ongoing support from technology specialists throughout your engagement.
  • Build the knowledge and confidence to identify potential next steps for your organisation’s digital twin journey.

Who should apply?

The Technology Access Programme is open to UK-based businesses  interested in exploring how digital twins could positively impact their organisation.

You do not need to be a digital twin expert to apply. We are looking for organisations with a relevant challenge, idea or use case that could benefit from hands-on experimentation with one of the technologies available through the programme.

The programme is sector agnostic, and applications are welcomed from businesses across different industries.

To be eligible, organisations must:

  • Be a UK-registered company.
  • Carry out programme activities within the UK.
  • Have a relevant idea, challenge or use case for the technology vendor they are applying to work with.
  • Be available to take part in programme activities from January 2027 onwards.
  • Meet the eligibility and State Aid/subsidy control requirements.
