Singular Intelligence offers solutions for automated decisions and insights,  explainability of  drivers and market factors, promoting resilience and sustainability in today’s volatile FMCG market. Started with Oxford University Innovation and Innovate UK competitive funding, the product CatmanAITM has been trialed and rolled out in leading companies such as Unilever, Sainsbury’s, Cranswick, and Kraft Heinz, with significant improvements in Accuracy and ROI.

RailX aims to facilitate logistics for SMEs while reducing CO2 emissions by buying leftover space from existing railway lines and providing “Last-mile” service coverage. However, variable arrival time of ships requires manual intervention and affects the routing efficiency, especially for their JIT services. Singular Intelligence has been tasked to automate the scheduling and optimisation of this supply-chain.

Singular solution optimises routes while considering multiple criteria (time, cost, capacity, CO2 emissions) with various orders of customisable priority. The optimisation considers coverage of maximum destinations with minimum number of transport modes and maximum possible capacity usage, ensuring highly efficient routes.

The efficient optimisation methodology can quickly provide new logistics routes for any changes in the supply chain, such as changes in the ship ETA time, road transport availability or rail timings. It also considers the delivery time requirements and can provide alerts for any impacts on the supply chain, especially JIT services.

Other unique advantages are:

  • Optional budgetary constraints
  • Customisable criteria priority based on customer type

Our business and solution experts will work with RailX to assess and solve any unique supply chain requirements. Diverse perspectives will be considered to ensure access, understanding, interpretation and use for all relevant user groups.

Current route optimisation software like Pulse, TrainPlus are specific to railways, but we will be tapping into the high-potential space of multimodal, multi-criteria route optimisation. We plan to expand to air freight and scale to other sectors like manufacturing, eCommerce while seeking licensing and white-label partnerships with established logistics firms.

The goal of achieving net zero by 2050 requires the mining industry to reduce its carbon footprint, which currently accounts for approximately 8% of the global carbon footprint. Most metals needed for clean technologies (e.g. lithium and nickel for electric car batteries, copper for electrification, iron for wind turbines) and everyday life (e.g. tens of metals for an iPhone) are extracted from open-pit mines. By implementing more efficient pit walls, the industry could save 200 million metric tonnes of CO2-equivalent carbon emissions and $7 billion per year in direct excavation costs globally.

To address this challenge, OptimalSlope Ltd commercialises a new and unique geotechnical software programme which determines optimal pitwall shapes for metalliferous open pit mines so that the overall steepness of the pitwall, from crest to toe, is maximised for the given lithology and rock properties. OptimalSlope’s innovation (Slope Optimiser) can determine the steepest, optimal slope profiles for any given input lithology, as well as visualise and export the output into strategic mine planning software.

OptimalSlope’s core value proposition to customers is that it offers mine owners a new software tool (Slope Optimiser) for designing mine pit walls. By using Slope Optimiser, mine owners can increase their mine excavation efficiency, leading to profitability increases of up to 50%. Additionally, Slope Optimiser can help reduce the mine carbon footprint in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 20% on average and decrease the number of rock tailings. Mine designers will benefit from a much more automated design process that requires fewer manual operations. This will result in a safer and more consistent mine design process.

Our next milestone is to achieve a 10-50 fold code execution time speedup using Machine Learning (ML).
