CreativeXR and the audience experience

Posted 26 Sep 2019

In 2017 Digital Catapult and Arts Council England launched CreativeXR to support the UK’s creative industries, particularly the arts and culture sector. CreativeXR gives the best creative teams the opportunity to develop concepts and prototypes of immersive content (virtual, augmented and mixed reality).

The programme is designed to support the development of impactful and engaging immersive creative and cultural experiences by UK content creators. This research report includes in-depth audience evaluations of the final five companies from the first cohort of the CreativeXR programme, which ran from October 2017 to February 2019.

The opportunity to analyse audience insights in this way is key to the further development of programmes such as CreativeXR, as well as the immersive projects they produce.

“How successful were the 2018 CreativeXR productions in engaging and satisfying audiences?”. The results presented in detail in this report, through research conducted by i2 Media, give a clear answer to this question: they were very successful.
