Canada-United Kingdom workshop on practical AI ethics

Date: 12 March 2019 09:00 - 12 March 2019 17:30

This full day innovation workshop will take a deep dive approach to create a future roadmap towards practical AI ethics. The roadmap and workshop aims to identify how different parties in Canada and the United Kingdom can work together towards the combined goal, development and adoption of practical tools for creating ethical AI.

During the workshop we will explore the taxonomy of AI ethics, identify existing gaps in the technology solutions, and assess different models of how an independent AI ethics testbed can be formed.

This innovation workshop forms part of a series of events and activities co-organised by Digital Catapult and NRC, in particular this event will follow on from the Following an open symposium to look at the supply and demand of tools to create responsible and sustainable artificial intelligence.

We will be joined by leading experts from both the UK and Canada to bridge the gap between the ‘what’ of Responsible AI and the ‘how’.

Who should attend?

This event seeks to bring together and foster collaboration among various parties involved in establishing responsible and sustainable artificial intelligence (AI) in Canada and the United Kingdom. This includes, but is not limited to researchers, policy makers, funding agencies, startups and scaleups, educational institutions, and legal experts.
