5PRING Tech Masterclass – Network Function Virtualisation and Slicing

Date: 14 December 2020 16:00 - 14 December 2020 17:50

Join us at the “5PRING 5G Tech Masterclasses: Network Function Virtualisation and Slicing” online event which will focus on virtualisation and network slicing, what they are and why to use them, including the benefits of SDN and NFV for 5G.

This masterclass series is run in partnership with 5PRING consortium members O2, Deloitte, Wayra UK, West Midlands 5G and Digital Catapult. This is one of three masterclasses designed to bring organisations with specific industry challenges together to incubate and accelerate commercially viable solutions to these challenges leveraged by 5G technology. This masterclass will explore network slicing basics, how it is incorporated into the 5G suite of functionalities, and how it applies to telecommunications technology as a whole.

Why attend?

By joining these three workshops you will learn about 5G and the potential it has for your business. You will learn how to access 5G testbeds to validate technical feasibility of use cases, how to identify high value use cases to explore deeply, and you will have the opportunity to develop business cases to demonstrate commercial viability with 5G.

Who should attend?

This masterclass is designed to help startups and corporate innovators learn the basics about 5G and to get a chance to experiment with 5G technology.

Why is Digital Catapult attending?

5G technologists from Digital Catapult will take you through the basics of 5G technology and run a deep-dive session on network slicing, how it is incorporated into the 5G suite of functionalities, and how it applies to telecommunications technology as a whole. We will focus on two key 5G enabling technologies and capabilities, define network and network functions virtualisation, what it means and how its beneficial.
