Government’s Levelling Up White Paper

“The government’s Levelling Up agenda includes a number of exciting initiatives that Digital Catapult is proud to support.

“Digital Catapult is closely embedded in projects around the country, many of which were name-checked in the white paper. This includes our work in immersive technologies as part of MyWorld in Bristol, the West Midlands 5PRING programme to accelerate industrial adoption of 5G, and the Smart Nano Manufacturing project in Northern Ireland – which will create a world-leading cluster of nano-manufacturing expertise.

“We have an ambition to expand our work on large-scale regional programmes in the North East. Our work with the North Tyne Authority, to help digital adoption among small and medium-sized enterprises in the region, is in direct response to local industrial needs.  Meanwhile, in Belfast, we are building on existing local excellence and working with the Belfast Regional Deal team and Department for the Economy to develop a leading edge Digital Twin facility which will accelerate the cluster of expertise already in the region and create a facility of national importance.

“With the momentum of this new strategy, we look forward to working closely with partners in government, regional and local authorities,  InnovateUK and UKRI, other research organisations and industry to accelerate the growth of UK technology capability and boost leading-edge innovation in strategic locations across the UK.”
