Meet us at MWC Barcelona 2024

Event overview

MWC Barcelona is the largest and most influential event for the connectivity ecosystem.

Whether you’re a global mobile operator, device manufacturer, technology provider, vendor, content owner, or are simply interested in the future of tech, you need to be in Barcelona from 26 to 29 February 2024, where technology, community and commerce converge. It’s the one time of year where everyone who’s anyone comes together under one roof. The SONIC Labs team will be returning to the show, exhibiting as part of the UK Pavilion, providing live demos on the VIAVI stand, as well as participating on panel discussions throughout the show.

On the VIAVI stand

An expert technologist from the SONIC Labs team will also be present on the VIAVI stand to provide  a live demo highlighting the commercial robustness and maturity of Open RAN technologies by to validating O-DU/O-CU. Delivered in partnership with VIAVI, Capgemini and Teledyne LeCroy Xena, this highlights work undertaken as part of the O-RAN Alliance PlugFest. Visit the VIAVI stand (Hall 5, Stand A18), where live demos will be running regularly throughout the show.













Hear from us

We’re excited to have experts speakers from Digital Catapult within the main agenda, taking part in the following panel discussions.

On the first day of the conference, Monday 26 February, Gary Trotman, Head of Technology Solutions, will take part in the Third Post Quantum Network Seminar, located in the GSMA Knowledge Zone, Hall 8.1, CC8.16, – 4YFN. Gary’s panel discussion, around “Policy and regulation persectives” will be moderated by IBM, from 3:05 to 3:50 pm.

Digital Catapult’s Director of 5G Technology, Dr Dritan Kaleshi will be on stage A (MWC Conference, Hall 6) on Tuesday 27 February, between 1:15 and 2:15 pm, to discuss “The Customer Experience Revolution in the AI Era” alongside panellists from Assurant, NVIDIA and Amdocs.

Later on that day, Paul Sludden, Director of SONIC Labs, will take part in a panel discussion around “Driving Open RAN Forward with Global Collaborators“, on Tuesday 27 February, between 3:15 and 4:00 pm on the Taiwan Pavilion – Hall 5, Stand 5A61. This session is open to all.

Paul will be joined in this panel by the following international speakers:

  • Olli Andersson, Program Director, Telecom Infra Project (Moderator)
  • Maggie Chao, Deputy Division Director, ITRI – TIP Lab (Taiwan)
  • Julie Kub, Software Engineer Division Chief, NTIA/ ITS (US)
  • Katja Henke, Senior Innovation Project Manager, i14y Lab (Germany)

 

The next day, Wednesday 28 February, Dr Robert Smith, Director of AI at Digital Catapult, will participate in a discussion with representatives from Databricks, NVIDIA, Orange and Telefonica, within the Humanizing AI theme on stage B (MWC Conference, Hall 6) titled “Are We in A Data Race?”, from 1:15 to 2:15 pm.
