This third webinar of the series focused on technical lessons learnt from the early deployments of 5G technology.
Working closely with the UK’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), Digital Catapult – the UK authority on advanced digital technology and a 5G technical & innovation Centre of Excellence – launched a series of industry events to drive Industrial 5G adoption in the UK. Showcasing real life examples of 5G applications, and maximising learnings for the manufacturing and logistics sectors.
This webinar – the third in a four-part series – focuses on understanding and sharing the technical lessons learnt from the early deployments of 5G technology within the UK’s manufacturing and logistics sectors.
The event showcased the most technical innovative aspects developed within the collaborative R&D projects that make up DCMS’ Industrial 5G Testbeds and Trials Programme. Remaining challenges and areas where there is still work to do were highlighted and discussed according to the experiences and the lessons learnt from these projects. Special focus was on the integration challenges of 5G technologies across the whole value chain, processes and use cases of the industrial domain.
Industry experts from the UK ecosystem including Vodafone, Three UK, Attocore, Zeetta Networks, Mativision and Weaver Labs shared their first-hand learnings, challenges and opportunities that have come from testing and delivering some of the most impactful applications of Industrial 5G.
The event also discussed the international initiatives and organisations tackling similar subjects of 5G integration with Industry 4.0. This was specifically the example of 5G-ACIA, GSA, TM Forum, 6G-IA and Networld Europe.
This webinar concluded with a panel discussion of leading organisations.
