We support businesses across the South West region working with innovators, small-medium enterprises, large businesses and academia to drive early adoption of advanced digital technologies. In doing so we build on the strengths of the existing ecosystem and its longstanding reputation for innovation across creative industries and other sectors, like advanced engineering, manufacturing and defence. We help with attracting investment, driving efficiencies and increasing competitiveness.
Specifically within the West of England region Digital Catapult is the lead partner on innovation within MyWorld, a UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Strength in Places funded project to position the West of England as a trailblazer in screen based media and creative media powerhouse. We’re also a delivery partner within the Digital Engineering & Technology Innovation (DETI) programme funded by the West of England Combined Authority. Most recently in July 2022 The Department of Culture, Media and Sport announced £10 million has been awarded to launch the UK Telecoms Innovation Network (UKTIN), a new body dedicated to boosting creativity in the country’s telecoms supply chain. Digital Catapult and The University of Bristol are among the delivery partners for UKTIN to set up and oversee the network.
