MiGarage: AWS Deep Dive

Date: 10 September 2018 09:00 - 10 September 2018 17:00

As part of our Machine Intelligence Garage, Digital Catapult is pleased to invite you to an Experimentation Space led by our partner AWS.

Who should attend?

  • AI startups
  • Data scientists
  • Developers
  • DevOps engineers

Why attend?

Come along for an interactive 1-day workshop with demos, talks and Q&As from AWS technologists covering topics such as chatbots, Deep Learning, image and video recognition as well as ML deployment on AWS.

Agenda

09:00 AM – 10:00 AM – Registration and networking breakfast

Meet fellow participants for the day and enjoy the networking breakfast.

10.00 AM – 11.00 AM – Session 1: Hands-on with Tensorflow

In this session, we will give you an overview of the Tensorflow machine learning framework and showcase how it connects to AWS Artificial Intelligence tools.

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM – Session 2: Building ChatBots with Amazon Lex

This session focuses on using Amazon Lex to create a conversational interface with facebook to canvas feedback from users. Amazon Lex provides the deep functionality and flexibility of natural language understanding (NLU) and automatic speech recognition (ASR), so you can build highly engaging user experiences with lifelike, conversational interactions, and create new categories of products.

1:30 PM – 2:30 PM – Session 3: Getting started with the AWS Deep Learning AMI

Deep Learning has become one of the hottest — if not THE hottest — topic in the IT industry. Sometimes there is a need to train your own neural network, and this session is specifically targeted at software developers with a basic knowledge of Python and a strong desire to learn.

2:30 PM – 3:30 PM – Session 4: A hands-on look at the Amazon Recognition API

Amazon Recognition makes it easy to add image and video analysis to your applications. You just provide an image or video to the Recognition API. This session will take you through some practical examples of how to use the services.

3:45 PM – 4:45 PM – Session 5: Getting started with Amazon SageMaker

Amazon SageMaker removes the complexity that holds back developer success with each of these steps. Amazon SageMaker includes modules that can be used together or independently to build, train, and deploy your machine learning models. This session will give practical examples of how to use the service.

Please register your interest to attend this activity. We will get back to you within 5 working days of your registration.

Machine Intelligence Garage is a Digital Catapult programme that is partly funded by Innovate UK and CAP-AI via ERDF.
