Date: 30 November 2020 09:45 - 3 December 2020 20:00

Digital Catapult is pleased to announce it will be taking part in this year’s BEYOND from 30 November to 03 December 2020 where thinkers, makers, investors and researchers across the creative industries come together to explore the relationship between creative research and business innovation.

BEYOND is an annual gathering of current and future innovators focused on research and development across the creative industries. For November 2020, BEYOND becomes a virtual conference, offering its global community a flexible programme of live and catch-up sessions. The main stage will offer provocations and insights from over 100 expert speakers from the worlds of theatre, music, gaming, TV and film, and visitor attractions.

Attendees will be able to explore a showcase of industry leading projects and access the research talent pipeline through a poster exhibition – before, during and after the conference.

This unprecedented project seeks to bring to life twenty years of British immersive content production. The panel will cover the evolution of British immersive by honing in on standout homegrown projects and also looking at what practical advancements have been key to this evolution. From Blast Theory’s seminal works to the launch of the Oculus Rift 1, Darkfield’s binaural audio to the UK’s first immersive theatre, what makes this content worth platforming and why?

The first part of the Immersive Arcade project is a timeline which will chart the highlights of creative content and industry milestones, and also invite the public to submit their own ideas for entries into the timeline.
