Meet us at: 5G World

Date: 1 September 2020 00:00 - 2 September 2020 00:00

Digital Catapult is pleased to announce it will be taking part in this year’s 5G World conference, a virtual platform and exhibition to deliver critical insights and connections to unleash the power of 5G.

While service providers are battling with the impact of COVID-19 on network capacity and quality, the race for 5G is still going strong among global innovators. Service providers are currently examining their options for 5G technology adoption and use cases, and are gearing up for network and new service launches. A crisis can be a driver for technological advances, with 5G set to revolutionise how we work from home, stay entertained indoors, connect with loved-ones virtually, and the way we do business. This year’s 5G World conference will deliver critical discourse around 5G and enable powerful connections – bringing together service providers, vendors, enterprises, media and more to share insights, best practice and connect over three days.

This combination can be described as “Advanced Digital Infrastructure” or “Intelligent Digital Fabric” and it will become the backbone of a new stack of technologies that enables the Augmented Reality Cloud, intelligent and resilient environments and digital twins. In this session we look at what the work of developing and adopting 5G-enabled solutions, and in particular the softwarisation and virtualisation of the infrastructure, providing the insights into how the technology stack is changing, how the infrastructure services are being commoditised, and how these trends can be taken advantage of more meaningfully and purposefully by UK businesses.
