The Digital Supply Chain Innovation Hub (DSCIH) Director has 3 main purposes 1)Develop and maintain the strategy for the DSCIH, endorsed by the Strategic Advisory Board and aligned Digital Catapult and key external stakeholders 2) Lead an operational delivery team to successfully deliver the mission of the DSCIH, developing new Digital Supply Chain solutions in the manufacturing sector, including monitoring and evaluation of the impact of these solutions 3)Deliver the required co-investment for the programme and develop the sustainable business model for the commercialisation of the programme with industry and technology partners from year 2 of its execution. Closing date for Applications: 31st July 2021. Anticipated Start date: ASAP (ideally by September).

what you’ll do
  • Working closely with the core programme partners and advisory boards to develop the strategy, programme and delivery plan in Digital Supply Chains and be responsible for its delivery
  • Liaising with the other funded initiatives to align goals of each programme, and maximise the impact of funding
  • Developing the business model for the long term sustainability of the programme, after funding has ended in 2025
  • Create commercial value propositions in relation to the DSCIH programme and validate with industrial partners in the manufacturing supply chain
  • Contribute to developing new and maintaining existing industry and tech partnerships in Digital Supply Chains
  • Responsible for administrative and financial matters, including the implementation of the DSCIH budget, taking due account of advice received from the Internal Auditing Function
  • Apply and continually enhance Digital Catapult best practice, but also innovate and improvise as required through the use of focused pilots, prototypes or proof of concepts
what we’re looking for
  • Able to demonstrate Digital Supply Chain know-how and understanding of the technology/ business landscape, ecosystem, value chain and future trends
  • Deep understanding and experience of operational and organisational structures and business models within manufacturing supply chains including Strategy & Planning, Sales & Procurement, Fulfilment & Logistics
  • Proven analytical and organisational skills with the capacity to develop longer-term strategies, and ability to set up and manage large interventions, both at strategic and operational level (including budgetary and financial management) taking complete ownership and accountability for delivery
  • Understanding and experience of using digital technologies and data to transform business practices within the sector and increase insight
  • Well-connected and networked in the UK with relevant players on both the industry and technology side
  • Proven experience in leading and managing large scale (£10m+) complex technology programmes
  • Highly collaborative, with experience of managing people with a range of experience and knowledge
  • Demonstrates clear leadership capabilities, and has the ability to influence colleagues, direct reports and stakeholders with an adaptive and responsive communication style
