Senior Immersive Technologist

We’re looking for a Senior Immersive Technologist for our Immersive programme, working across Virtual, Augmented, Mixed Reality and virtual production technologies. From a standing start, just over 2 years ago, the programme now comprises: a network of Immersive Labs around the UK; the Augmentor accelerator; the CreativeXR programme, funding innovative immersive content; a significant role in the government’s Audiences of the Future programme; numerous published reports and a host of strong relationships across the larger commercial players, startups, universities and government. This is a new role in our growing team and it is an exciting time to be joining one of our highest-growth areas as the co-lead for the programme. This is a great role for someone with strong and demonstrable experience with immersive technologies. The ideal candidate is proactive, positive, creative, collaborative and organised. what you’ll do
  • Work with the Head of Technology to set out strategy and research objectives and use these to influence wider strategies
  • Support technology adoption by working with and leading cross-functional teams
  • Build strong internal and external relationships to effectively communicate the technology message and benefits to SME, creative teams and developers
  • Form and foster close relationships with internal and external partners to collaborate on commercial and CR&D projects
  • Share expertise and communicate work in presentations, blogs or articles
what we’re looking for
  • Broad technical experience with virtual or augmented reality: can demonstrate examples of projects
  • Wide understanding of current technology debates in the areas of virtual, augmented and mixed reality, related user experience technologies such as haptics, touch and tangible interfaces
  • Strong understanding and experience of product, project and engineering methodologies
  • Experience or interest in prototyping solutions using immersive technologies is essential
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong team player with a very collaborative approach
  • Proactive and self-confident, adaptable and able to cope with ambiguity, changing and evolving priorities
  • Experience influencing across organisations and managing groups of stakeholders for complex projects
