Procurement and Contracts Analyst - Full or Part Time

Your role will be to support the purchasing function by managing key Digital Catapult purchases and assisting with contract administration. You will work with with department managers to educate, support and process their procurement needs and provide recommendations on purchasing processes for their consideration. We are accepting applications for either full or part time (4 or 5 days per week).

what you’ll do
  • Administer the procurement process that results in the acquisition of a variety of goods and services to fulfill the requirements of Digital Catapult departments
  • Conduct procurement planning sessions with user departments' representatives to ensure understanding of the procurement process and associated timeframes, and establish respective roles and responsibilities
  • Review requisitions, specifications and scopes of work to ensure they promote competition and best value for the Catapult
  • Review, evaluate and resolve supplier objections or protests in accordance with established procedures, to ensure bidders/proposers receive due process and are treated fairly and consistently
  • Negotiate with suppliers to obtain best prices and value
what we’re looking for
  • Strong proactive work ethic, with the ability to work independently
  • University graduate or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience (CIPS qualifications an advantage)
  • Basic knowledge of UK and EU procurement law, along with contract law principles
  • Public and private procurement experience
  • knowledge of common e-tendering/procurement tools and services would be an advantage
  • Ability to compile, review, categorize, prioritize, analyze and interpret data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with ability to provide guidance to others on how to apply procedures and standards to specific situations
  • Confident, persuasive and demonstrable influencer
