Innovation Coordinator (6 months FTC)

The primary responsibility will be supporting the Innovation Services team in coordinating, delivering and documenting our Innovation Services, including workshops, Pit Stops and other events. You will be researching and engaging small companies, corporations, government, nonprofit organisations and universities with Digital Catapult in our centre near King’s Cross. The role will include support of programming and organisation, sourcing of participants and experts, support in qualitative research and interviewing, assisting with internal and external communications, documentation of workshop results, community management, and widespread coordination working with a variety of personalities.

what you’ll do
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of Innovation Services at Digital Catapult, including event planning, invitation management and event delivery
  • Working with internal and external experts to support delivery of workshops at the cutting edge of technology innovation, across a variety of industry sectors (in particular manufacturing, creative and health) and technology themes (including AR/VR, AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Data Analytics and Cyber Security)
  • Sourcing of speakers, experts and innovators
  • Working with our marketing team on communication and capturing of the experiences, both internally and externally
  • Preparation of briefing documents and post-event packs
  • Coordination across multiple stakeholders and team members to ensure well-organised, successful and engaging workshops
what we’re looking for
  • Experience of developing and delivering successful events for startups and/or corporates, such as workshops, pitch days, industry round tables
  • Solid understanding of news and trends across the digital sector
  • Experience of working with startups in an incubator or similar organisation would be valuable
  • Outstanding analytical and strategic skills: ability to think critically and to grasp, interpret and articulate complex concepts
  • Outstanding organisational skills: ability to prioritise and deliver events to a high standard in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills: examples of writing for internal and external audiences with excellent attention to detail
  • Both a friendly team player and an ambitious self-starter
  • Degree-educated or equivalent: able to demonstrate depth of thinking in at least one area
