Digital Catapult is seeking a mid to senior level Visual Designer / Creative to join the Experience Design team. The role is extremely varied and will rely on all your creative, adaptive and influential skills to ensure the Digital Catapult brand is well represented across all our channels. The projects typically range from tactical short term projects where design support is required through to long term programmes where you’ll look to not only deliver but also have an active role in guiding the design process, planning and management of partners and stakeholders. The work requires a strategic design thinker to continue to evolve our brand family, design systems and asset library as well as a hands-on approach to design our industry leading reports, presentations, infographics, events and interactive websites and installations. Within our highly collaborative Experience Design team we get involved in design strategy, research, concepting, delivery and continuous improvement of our projects and outcomes. The team is responsible for visual design, branding and experience design, service design, experiential design, user experience design and research activities within Digital Catapult. It is a great opportunity to work at the cutting edge of new technologies and help speed up the adoption of advanced digital technologies in the UK, and as our visual designer you’ll have a critical influence in defining our creative direction.

what you’ll do
  • Creative direction and design of printed content, digital and experiential platforms
  • Expanding and maintaining our design guidelines and templates to support the wider company in developing on-brand content and material
  • Hands-on design of reports, banners, brochures, infographics, user interfaces, screens, and presentations
  • Evolve and refine the Digital Catapult identity and brand family
  • Building on our asset library of graphics, photos, templates and logos and icons
  • Collaborating closely with the Marketing team and external suppliers in the development of tactical and strategic material
what we’re looking for
  • Broad understanding of brand and design methodology, processes and tools required to get the job done to a high standard
  • Proven ability to quickly adapt, understand, communicate and visualise complex concepts and translate them into captivating designs
  • A highly collaborative individual and who enjoys working through ideas with others, will help facilitate design sessions and who can show and incite passion for great design
  • A good communicator with a creative attitude, with evidence of successful brand development and execution
  • Experience in working with multiple stakeholders in the organisation and across multiple projects concurrently, managing your own time and ensuring your team is kept up to date on your progress
  • Degree in a relevant design discipline, such as graphic design and communication, user experience design or product design
  • Experience in working and preparing content for print, digital and physical spaces
