Commercial Product Lead - Immersive

Your job is to act as business lead for Digital Catapult’s ‘Immersive’ technology layer: support and further develop the partnerships, commercial relationships, project portfolio and funding base around Immersive. This is a diverse and influential role, collaborating with startups, corporates, universities, government agencies and other stakeholders working to develop projects and platforms to help grow the market for Immersive companies or remove barriers to their growth, while developing commercial income streams in this area for the Digital Catapult.

what you’ll do
  • Look beyond short-term trends into future markets and see where the UK can be a leader in next-generation technologies and applications relating to Immersive technologies
  • Put in place projects and programmes to harness the growth from these trends
  • Develop partnerships and deliver new funding opportunities in Immersive
  • Work closely with technologists and market sector leads to develop projects and initiatives in a highly collaborative, matrix environment
  • Develop, test and launch business and funding models for new project ideas to create significant impact
  • Evangelise Digital Catapult’s mission and key opinions within your area to a wide audience and into business communities.
what we’re looking for
  • Strong understanding of Immersive technology, game engines and content & application development. Deep technical knowledge is not required but an appreciation of the technology, and a thorough understanding of the business and economic models underpinning Immersive is
  • Experience in conceiving and managing complex initiatives in a technology and innovation environment
  • Strong business development and commercial experience, including market analysis skills, experience in developing business cases for market intervention programmes, and excellent negotiation skills
  • Experience of developing and participating in collaborative R&D projects with a commercial element to them
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
