Internal Business Analyst / Project Manager - 12m FTC

The Project Manager will manage the portfolio of all internal systems projects, and project manage the individual projects, working closely with the engineering team. As a business analyst will be gathering requirements and agree scope for improvements and changes to internal systems: analyse business processes, understand user needs. The post holder will work closely with colleagues across the engineering team, product team, marketing, and policy & strategy. This role will have broad impact as colleagues across the business are important stakeholders and ‘customers’ of the work delivered, and you will be required to lead an effective communication and change management process.

what you’ll do
  • Manage the planning, initiation and delivery of a series of projects, undertaking relevant (non-technical) work as necessary to ensure that progress is made and projects are delivered to time, quality and budget
  • Ensure that tasks are clearly coordinated, delivered to timescale and that specifications are agreed with Digital Catapult colleagues, gaining full agreement of any external partners involved
  • Ensure that user needs are taken into account in project planning and delivery, considering training, communication, testing and effective handover to live
  • Provide resource, schedule and cost estimates for projects
  • Initiate and maintain all project artefacts such as budgets, regular status updates, plans, timelines and resourcing estimates. Initiate and run regular standup meetings, update sessions and workshops as needed. Analyse project risks and initiate mitigation plans accordingly
  • Manage suppliers and 3rd party vendors ensuring deliverables are delivered on time, budget and quality. This will include (from time to time) evaluation of prospective suppliers regarding production capability & quality management
what we’re looking for
  • Hands-on project management experience in a technical setting and on website development in small or medium sized technology organisation. Direct experience in managing multiple stakeholders and agile projects, including methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Pro-active and self-confident, adaptable and able to cope with ambiguity, changing and evolving priorities whilst being able to identify new opportunities
  • Experience managing groups of stakeholders for complex projects. Very collaborative working style, desire and ability to share ideas
  • Excellent analytical problem solving and multi-tasking skills, with a creative and flexible attitude
  • High quality communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Substantial relevant project management experience. Qualifications such as Agile certifications or PRINCE2 an advantage
